Cast Iron Foundry - Modern Moulding Sand Processing
In the year 2002 we developed new moulding sand processing station which is eqipped with following devices:
- Paddle mixer MTP 1000
- System of moisture control
- Vibratory-fluidization refrigerating machine
To keep high sand quality constant control is necessary at every cycle stage. In Simiński-Ordon Foundry control begins just after sand separation from casting i.e. just after form tumble. Mixing process takes place in paddle mixer equipped with slant bowl. Paddle mixer is one of most moderns plants for moulding sand mixing. Thanks to dynamic mixing process, paddle mixer is the most effective and economic among all other used mixers so far. All components which are being dosed to mixer are also weigh at precise electronic scales. Additionally with sand returnable weight is being made moisture measurement and sand temperature. Based on those parameters water batching system calculates and adds adequate water amount necessary to obtain required humidity.
Fluidization refrigerating machine is the most effective and economic refrigerator. Thanks to fluidization bottom vibrations is steady material pieces distribution, their mutual mixing and raveling what enable very intensive particular pieces surrounding by cold air stream. Automatic water spraying system depending on sand temperature adds suitable water amount. Sand cooling is made by intensive water evaporation.
This way of moulding sand preparation process enable to keep very stable and high sand parameters.
All devices applied in Simiński-Ordon Foundry moulding sand processing belongs to BAT (Best Available Technology). Only high moulding sand quality enable to manufacture proper grey iron castings.
